This is the 2nd Pure Player prototype I built 4 years ago, in March of 2015. It has never been offered for sale before. Over the years I would use this guitar to test new electronics and pickup combinations.

Originally set up with a pair of Manalishi pickups, permanently out of phase in the middle position (the “PG Mod”), it now has a new pair of Manalishis, with a 4 wire bridge pickup and a Push-Pull on the tone control to change phase. All the other hardware is new gloss nickel, and a switch ring was added. It has a fast playing ’60s neck profile and weighs in at 7 lbs., 14 oz. (3.57 Kg.).

Soon new Pure Players will be offered at a base price of $1,695 with standard electronics. Equipped with the Push-Pull for phase changing, a new Pure Player like this one would be $1,745.
